JØRGEN HAUGEN SØRENSEN 1934 - 2021

Before the opening at the Hans Alf Gallery, Jørgen Haugen Sørensen's family and the Court of Frederiksberg invited to a memorial memory for Jørgen at Howitzvej 32, Friday 1 April 2022 at 15.30.

Since Jørgen Haugen Sørensen in September 2017 erected his sculpture "The Shadow" on the square next to the new courthouse on Solbjergvej, there has been a special connection between Jørgen and the place. Most recently, Jørgen Haugen Sørensen has created an approx. 10 meter long graphic frieze that was presented at the memorial service. The frieze was created with financial support from the Beckett Foundation and the Frederiksberg Foundation.

At the memorial ceremony, there were speeches by the presidents of the court Søren Axelsen and Christian Lundblad as well as former director of the Statens Museum for Kunst Allis Helleland, the poet Henrik Nordbrandt, the graphic artist Dan Benveniste and the poet Morten Søndergaard. The singer Jens Lysdal was responsible for a musical feature.

Wine and snacks was served at the gathering.
